Young disability footballers treated to Q&A with Pascal Gross
Pascal Gross joined two dozen participants in our disability football programme for a question and answer session.
The German joined a Zoom call with a group of young Sussex-based participants to answer their questions and help inspire them.
Pascal has been in red-hot form this season – he’s bagged five goals and two assists in 12 games so far – and the group was very excited to (virtually) meet him.
The participants had half an hour with Pascal to ask him any questions they liked.
He answered plenty of questions, including:
- What’s your favourite skill move?
- What was it like moving away from home in Germany to come to Brighton?
- Did anyone ever tell you that you weren’t good enough to make it?
Pascal took the time to explain his signature skill move to the group – the Pascal Turn.
A few of the participants took the opportunity to let Pascal know that he is their favourite Brighton player.
Philip Broom, Disability Development Officer at Albion in the Community, was very pleased to have Pascal involved.
“Having support from the first team players makes such a big impact, especially on our younger participants,” Philip said.
“I know the whole group had a great time with Pascal and we’re really grateful for his time.”
Last month, Pascal also met a group of young Sussex-based Ukrainians who take part in football sessions with Albion in the Community.
It was clearly an inspiring meeting for him – Pascal went on to score Albion’s fourth goal in a 4-1 win over Chelsea just two days later!
