Amazing summer full of fun on offer with Gully’s Days Out
People with a disability and their families are being given the chance to have a summer to remember thanks to a programme run by Albion in the Community (AITC).
AITC’s Gully’s Days Out club provides fun trips to some of the best attractions in Sussex and is open to anyone with a disability or learning disability.
The programme is generously supported by American Express and volunteers from Amex join AITC and Gully’s Days Out members at regular supported days. The Amex volunteers, all of whom have received disability awareness training, provide a helping hand to parents and carers and make sure everyone has a great day out.
To celebrate the start of the summer season, AITC organised visits to two of the newest Gully’s Days Out partner attractions: Jungle Rumble Adventure Golf and the Brighton Zip, both on Brighton seafront.
There they were joined by Amex volunteers and Gully’s Days Out members, with Brighton & Hove Albion mascot Gully also making a guest appearance.
Kenny Moor, Gully’s Days Out co-ordinator at AITC, said: “Our Gully’s Days Out are always a lot of fun and it is brilliant to be able to add some new attractions just in time for summer.
“We are very grateful to all our partner attractions for hosting our visits and providing tickets. It really does make a huge difference to our members and their families.
“Gully’s Days Out would also not be as successful without the on-going involvement of our volunteers from American Express. They are an absolutely central part of Gully’s Days Out and I know our members and their families really appreciate the support they provide.”
Membership of Gully’s Days Out costs just £15 a year. For that one-off price members can attend the supported trips and also request free tickets for themselves and their friends and family to a host of attractions, including Cineworld, Brighton Palace Pier, the Amex Stadium (for a stadium tour) and Tilgate Nature Centre.
And Gully’s Days Out is not just for individuals. Day centres and SEND schools can also join for £45 each year – meaning all their service users and pupils can benefit from the supported trips.
