American Express raises over £27k for AITC at fundraising evening
An American Express (Amex) colleague awards event has raised a phenomenal sum of more than £27,000 for Albion in the Community.
The money was raised at American Express’ annual Travel & Lifestyle Services (TLS) Community Awards, an event which recognises and celebrates the outstanding work and contributions both AITC and Amex colleagues make in their local communities.
Funds were raised through ticket sales, sponsorship from partners, auctions and a raffle drawn on the evening of the event.
American Express has supported Albion in the Community at this annual awards event for four years, raising over £80,000 for the charity.
AITC Chief Executive Matt Dorn was full of praise for the support received: “The partnership we have with American Express is very important for the charity,” he said.
“Their continued backing helps us to make a real impact in communities all over Sussex. We’re very grateful for their support and look forward to continuing our partnership.”
Albion in the Community has been supported by Amex for more than a decade, with the opening of the American Express Community Stadium in 2011 heralding the start of the partnership.
Over the past ten years the partnership has made a huge difference to the 15,000 beneficiaries supported in over 300 activity sessions jointly delivered between Albion in the Community and Amex, with 30,000 volunteers hours provided by Amex colleagues.
By supporting AITC’s life-changing work and providing volunteers to help it run its community programmes, the partnership plays a big role in helping AITC change lives through the power of football.
