Bella Sankey gets stuck in at Community Hub workshop

Brighton & Hove City Council leader Bella Sankey was full of praise for the Foundation after visiting a children’s nutrition session at the Community Hub.

Ms Sankey came to the Community Hub on Freshfield Road to learn more about the Foundation’s community work across the city, and to meet some of the young people who benefit from it.

Children from Queen’s Park Primary School were invited to the Community Hub for a smoothie-making workshop, teaching them how to make their own smoothies and about the importance of eating enough fruit and vegetables.

Ms Sankey got involved with the session by helping the children make their smoothies, and later spoke about the work of the Foundation in Brighton and Hove.

“It’s been wonderful to come out and visit the Foundation’s Community Hub and see first-hand the great work that goes on here,” she said.

“The Foundation is such a positive force to have in the city, and learning more about how they support thousands of children across Brighton and Hove has been truly inspiring.”

Local schoolchildren regularly take part in nutrition sessions at the Community Hub, learning skills including how to prepare healthy meals, smoothie-making, and the benefits of trying new food.

Matt Dorn, CEO at the BHAFC Foundation, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome Bella to our Community Hub to show her what goes on at one of our nutrition workshops.

“It’s great for us as a club and as a charity to work with such a supportive council.

“We want to support as many young people as possible across Brighton and Hove, and we hope to continue growing our community programmes across the city.”

The BHAFC Foundation Community Hub is supported by the Premier League Fans Fund, and the Foundation’s family nutrition sessions are supported by the Premier League and PFA Community Fund.
