Brighton & Hove Albion Foundation announces trustee board changes

The Brighton & Hove Albion Foundation has announced changes to its trustee board as two long-standing members step down, with new members joining from March 2025.
After nearly a decade of dedicated service, Paul Mullen and Judith Richards will be stepping down from their roles as trustees.
Paul, Chief Operating Officer at Brighton & Hove Albion, who has served since March 2016, has been instrumental in leading the Foundation’s sustainability efforts.
Judith, who joined in November 2016, has played a vital role in safeguarding, ensuring the highest levels of care and protection for those involved with the Foundation.
Paul Mullen said: “It has been an incredible journey serving as a trustee for the Brighton & Hove Albion Foundation. I am immensely proud of the progress we’ve made and the positive impact we have had on the community. I look forward to seeing the Foundation continue to thrive.”
Judith Richards added: “My time with the Foundation has been both fulfilling and inspiring. Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do, and I am confident that the Foundation will continue to uphold the highest standards of care for those we support.”
In their place, Russell Wood (Head of Commercial at Brighton & Hove Albion) and Richard Valder-Davis (Head of Safeguarding & Academy Player Care at Brighton & Hove Albion) will be joining the trustee board from March 2025.
Russell Wood shared his enthusiasm for the new role: “I am honoured to be joining the Foundation’s trustee board. I look forward to bringing my commercial expertise to support its continued growth and community impact.”
Richard Valder-Davis also expressed his excitement: “The Foundation does fantastic work in safeguarding and support for children, and I am eager to contribute to its mission. I am proud to be part of a team that is so dedicated to making an impactful difference to communities.”
In addition, two more trustees have been appointed to the Foundation’s board, Laila Baradei who is currently General Counsel and Director of Governance and Compliance at the University of Sussex, and David Fellows who held senior executive roles and board positions with oversight of Digital Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and information security strategy and operations.
