Albion in the Community suspends delivery

Albion in the Community suspends delivery

Martin Perry, Chairman of Trustees, and Matt Dorn, Chief Executive Officer, have made the following statement on behalf of Albion in the Community:

At Albion in the Community we are implementing a number of measures and precautions to minimise the risk of participants, their families, our staff, and the wider community being impacted by Covid-19/Coronavirus.

Unfortunately, this means we are suspending all of our activities in the community until further notice.

This is not a decision the charity has taken lightly and has done so in consultation with Brighton & Hove Albion, the Premier League, other partner organisations and in light of the FA’s recommendation that all grassroots football be cancelled and the government’s guidance on avoiding all unnecessary social contact.

The charity will continue to monitor government and Public Health England updates and will review our decision at such time as government advice changes.

We appreciate the cancellation of our delivery will be frustrating for many of the thousands of people the charity supports on a regular basis, but we hope people appreciate why we have taken this decision. The health and wellbeing of our participants has always been, and will remain, our main consideration.

Our teams will also be looking to identify other ways we can continue to support some of the most-vulnerable people we work with during this challenging time.

If anyone has any urgent questions, please contact us in the first instance via: info@bhafcfoundation.org.uk.

Thank you for your patience and understanding at this time.

Yours sincerely,

Martin Perry, Chair of Trustees

Matt Dorn, Chief Executive Officer
