Law firm to support Albion in the Community
An award-winning law firm has teamed up with Brighton & Hove Albion’s official charity after staff chose to focus their fundraising efforts to support its work.
Staff at DMH Stallard, which has an office in Brighton and Hove, recently selected Albion in the Community (AITC) as their chosen charity for the next 12 months and will now set about raising funds for the charity, which last year worked with more than 40,000 local people.
Money raised by the partnership will be used to fund AITC’s work across Sussex, including its 31 football sessions for people with a disability and the growing number of free football sessions it delivers to young people living in areas of deprivation.
DMH Stallard, which also has offices in Gatwick, Horsham, Guildford and London, is well-regarded for its socially-responsible approach to business and its eagerness to be an active part of the communities in which its offices are based, and the decision to support AITC is seen by the firm as a natural extension of that ethos.
Richard Pollins, managing partner at DMH Stallard, said he and his colleagues were only too pleased to be supporting AITC and were looking forward to starting their fundraising.
He said: “DMH Stallard has always been active in its local communities.
“In addition each year we focus fundraising support on just one or two charities which reflect our own values, hence our support for Albion in the Community, with its emphasis on personal development, health and wellbeing, education and inclusion.”
Mr Pollins and Vanessa Joll, a partner in DMH Stallard’s real estate team, recently visited AITC at its base at the American Express Community Stadium. There they met with Lynsay Josephy, the charity’s corporate fundraising executive, to discuss the partnership.
Mrs Josephy said: “If it wasn’t for the backing and generosity of firms like DMH Stallard, we would not be able to offer the variety of programmes we do and ultimately, we wouldn’t be able to support as many people in the local area.
“Our thanks go to everyone at DMH Stallard for deciding to support us in this way. I’ve been incredibly impressed by the firm’s willingness to make a positive impact on their local community and I’m really looking forward to working with them over the coming months.”
