FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can someone from the Foundation come to my event?
We are a small team so we cannot guarantee that someone from the Foundation will be able to make it to your event. The best thing to do is to let us know about your event and we will always try our best to attend!
How can I send the money raised to the Foundation?
We are a cashless charity therefore we can only accept donations by Card / Cheque / Bank transfer / PayPal
Can the Foundation send a Letter of Authenticity as proof of my fundraising? Can I get a Letter of Support?
We would be happy to provide both a Letter of Authenticity or a Letter of Support – just ask!
Can the Foundation provide any branding for your event?
We will always try our best to provide you with branding but this is not always possible. We can endeavour to provide Collection cans, Pull up banners, Foundation staff representative on the day (cannot guarantee), A-Boards, Running vest and Tombola/ Raffle prize/s. When you get in touch to inform us of your event, let us know what you would like and we will see what we can do!
Why do I need to inform the charity of my event?
We may not always find out about events taking place on our behalf. However, we want to know as much about your event as possible, to ensure that we can support you as much as possible. We will not accept donations from events derived from tobacco manufacture, the manufacturing of weapons, or activities that could be detrimental to adult or young people’s health and wellbeing.
Can I book Gully the mascot to come to my event?
Gully and Sally are very busy gulls! As much as they would love to attend all events, this is just not possible.
Can a player from the men’s or women’s first team attend my event?
Our players have extremely busy schedules so unfortunately, we will not be able to facilitate this.
What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid can help you maximise your fundraising. However, there are strict rules about how you can use it. You can only claim Gift Aid on individual donations. You can’t claim on ticket sales, raffle ticket sales, winning auction bids, or as part of a group or collection.
You can find out more on The Health and Safety Executive, the Fundraising Regulator: Code of Fundraising Practice or The Gambling Commission websites.
What do I need to say about my fundraising for BHAFC Foundation?
When you fundraise for us, you are fundraising as an independent supporter. This means you should say you’re fundraising ‘in aid of’ the BHAFC Foundation.
Do I need a license for my event?
You will need to check with your local authority to check if any part of your fundraising event will require a license. Street collections and collections on public property, entertainment (including recorded music), selling alcohol, and holding a raffle or auction are a few examples of activities that require a license.
