Festive Fun Run raises £4,000 for AITC
More than 240 people helped raise £4,000 at the Seagulls’ Festive Fun Run last weekend.
Runners of all ages took part in the fun run, with a crowd of blue and white setting off for two laps around the Amex Stadium.
The day started with a warm-up led by Albion mascot Gully, who put the runners through their paces before they began the race.
Fans were treated to a visit from a familiar face before the run, with Albion legend Guy Butters surprising runners by arriving donning a Santa suit and bushy white beard.
Every participant received a limited edition festive Brighton & Hove Albion scarf and many chose to wear Albion colours as they set off on the run.
The money raised from the fun run will help fund our life-changing work across Sussex; we deliver more than 80 sessions every week across the county that help children, young people and families to get active, learn new skills and improve their wellbeing.
Hannah Simpson, who organised the Seagulls’ Festive Fun Run for AITC, was delighted with how the event went.
“We’re delighted to have so many people back in person for this event after a few years of disruption due to the pandemic,” she said.
“Everyone had a great time, and it was fantastic to see so many people enjoying themselves and getting into the festive spirit.
“The £4,000 we raised will make a real difference to the people we work with and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who took part. We’re already looking forward to welcoming them back to the stadium for our 2023 Seagulls’ Festive Fun Run!”
