Foundation kids take part in sustainability workshop and litter pick

Young people from Brighton were invited to the Amex Stadium to learn more about sustainability in football.

Around 30 participants from the Foundation’s Premier League Kicks programme joined the sustainability workshop, which encouraged them to think about environmental responsibility in their communities.

The workshop, which was held by Albion’s Sustainability Manager Thomas Harris, was supported by Foundation coaches.

The young players were tasked with designing their own football team logos, shirts, and team names in order to promote environmental sustainability.

They were also asked to design a group project on how they could support their own local area, before heading out as a group to pick up litter.

Later, they enjoyed a fun football tournament in Falmer.

Matt Dorn, BHAFC Foundation CEO, said: “We’re committed to promoting environmental sustainability here at the Foundation, so we were glad to have the chance to put on this workshop.

“The young people engaged really well in this session and they had plenty of great ideas.

“It’s heartening to know that so many young people were glad to give up their time to learn about sustainability and to help clean up the local area.”
