Hundreds of kids enjoy free half term football

Young people across Sussex took part in free football tournaments run by the BHAFC Foundation during February half term.
Boys and girls aged eight to eighteen were invited to join in with free football tournaments as part of the Foundation’s Premier League Kicks programme.
Youngsters in Brighton, Eastbourne, Hastings, and Worthing joined in the fun, giving local children a fun and active way to spend the half term break.
Premier League Kicks is a programme designed to provide free access to community football in high-need neighbourhoods, giving young people a positive after-school activity, the chance to learn new skills, and access to mentorship from qualified coaches.
Matt Dorn, CEO at the BHAFC Foundation, spoke of the huge impact Premier League Kicks has across Sussex.
“Hundreds of young people benefit from Premier League Kicks, and I know that many of them look forward to these tournaments we run during the school holidays,” he said.
“We had excellent attendance at our February half-term tournaments, showing the real appetite that families have for the free, organised, and high-quality football that we offer.
“Premier League Kicks gives young people something positive to look forward to and channel their energy into, and having our coaches as strong role models has a huge impact on helping these children make positive choices.”
The BHAFC Foundation runs free Premier League Kicks sessions every week at dozens of locations across Sussex, with mixed sessions, girls-only groups, and ‘Mini Kicks’ for under-11s also available.
