Hundreds of Sussex kids play on the Amex pitch
Over 700 local children had the chance to play on the pitch at the American Express Stadium.
Following the end of the 2023/24 Premier League season, participants in the Foundation’s Football Pathway programme were given a rare chance to play on the Amex pitch.
730 youngsters – including hundreds of girls – took advantage of the opportunity and got a taste of life as a professional footballer.
The young players got to take part in drills and challenges before playing in small-sided games.
Mark Pedrick, Football Participation manager at the BHAFC Foundation, was pleased that so many young people were able to have this opportunity.
“We had some fantastic Play on the Pitch sessions at the end of May,” he said, “All of the kids had an unbelievable time and everyone had a smile on their face.
“It’s not every day that you get to play on the pitch at a Premier League stadium, and I’m sure it’s an experience that these kids will remember for the rest of their lives.”
