Premier League and PFA renew support for disability football

The Foundation’s disability football programme has received renewed support from the Premier League and PFA for the next three years.

The charity’s disability programme, which supports around 500 people in Sussex, is one of the largest in the country and has been running for almost 30 years.

It has been supported by the Premier League PFA Community Fund for several years; support which has now been renewed for a further three year period.

Lynsey Hermann, Head of Community Programmes at the Foundation, was delighted to receive the continued support.

“We’re really grateful to the PFA and the Premier League for their contributions to our disability football programme,” she said.

“The Premier League have played a huge part in helping us grow the Foundation into what it is today, and its thanks to their support that we can reach so many people across the region.

“We look forward to working with them for many years to come, growing the grassroots game and bringing football to as many people as possible.”

Phil Broom, Disability Football, echoed Lynsey’s sentiments.

“This support will enable us to help so many people who don’t really have any other way of accessing football,” he said.

“Our disability football programme is such an important part of our participants’ lives. It gets them active, gives them something to look forward to and to work towards.

“Football is about community, wellbeing, aspiration, and fun, and we’re privileged to be able to bring the sport to so many people who otherwise wouldn’t have the chance to play.”
