Why our Community Champions support us
Community Champions are Albion supporters who commit a small monthly donation to the BHAFC Foundation.
We have hundreds of fantastic Community Champions; their continued support provides the charity with guaranteed monthly income, and helps us to change lives across Sussex.
We spoke to four different Community Champions to find out why they choose to support the Foundation.

The Foundation held a disability sports day called the Albion Games, and I came along. Trying out sports like wheelchair basketball and amputee football really got me thinking about the challenges that people go through.
They also showed us the story of Charlie, a young amputee footballer. He and his mum spoke so honestly and openly – that’s when I knew I wanted to help make it happen.
I’m now a Community Champion, and I’d encourage anyone else to become one.

Becoming a Community Champion made perfect sense to me.
Through my work at the club, I’m privileged to see first-hand the fantastic work being carried out each day in our local community. I see the care and dedication that goes in behind the scenes to ensure the Foundation make a difference to thousands of people; for many young people, they are accessing football for the first time.
Being a Community Champion is immensely rewarding, it’s a small monthly commitment which makes a big difference.

Three years ago, I had no real idea of what the Brighton & Hove Albion FC Foundation was all about. I then started working as a freelance photographer for them, and soon witnessed first-hand what incredible work they do in our community.
It has opened my eyes to how the Foundation is changing the lives of many children and adults for the better throughout Sussex. I didn’t have to think twice about becoming a Community Champion.

Rob and I became Community Champions because our foster son joined the Powerchair football team. We can see the difference this has made to him.
We know that the Foundation are always looking for support, and while we can’t give our time – we have four foster children, three of whom have disabilities – we did want to make a difference to all children helped by the Foundation.
That’s why we both make a monthly donation. We also love coming to their special fundraising events!
