£72k raised for Foundation at Albion golf day

£72k raised for Foundation at Albion golf day

A recent golf day raised around £72,000 for the Foundation.

Teams were joined by former Albion players for an 18-hole course at Mannings Heath, a stunning 500-acre estate near Horsham.

Dozens of golfers were joined by club legends Glenn Murray and Guy Butters at the event, which was sponsored by Group 1 Brighton BMW.

Money raised through ticket sales, an auction on the day, and other donations from the event will help support the Foundation to provide inclusive football sessions throughout Sussex.

Russell Wood, Head of Commercial at the club, said: “We’re always happy to be able to support the Foundation in any way we can.

“This has been another very successful golf day, and the money raised will allow the Foundation to bring disability football to hundreds of people.”

Charlie, a 14-year-old in our amputee football team, spoke to guests at the golf day alongside his mum Kate about how much the disability football scheme has helped him.

Matt Dorn, CEO at the BHAFC Foundation, said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part in the golf day, to our generous sponsors, and to the club for organising such a fantastic event.

“The funds raised at this event will go a long way in helping us change lives all over Sussex.”

The money raised from the golf day could support around 1,150 people to play weekly inclusive football sessions for an entire year.

Our first disability football session was held 27 years ago in 1997, and we’ve provided inclusive football opportunities for thousands of people in the years since.
