BGT’s Ravi gets smoothie masterclass at Community Hub
Campaigner and Britain’s Got Talent contestant Ravi Adelekan recently visited the Foundation’s Community Hub.
Ravi and a group of his friends took part in a smoothie-making workshop held by the Foundation’s nutritionist and Community Hub team.
Ravi, 9, reached the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent as part of Ravi’s Dream Team choir, which wanted to drive improved support for children with brain tumours.
He was diagnosed with a benign tumour in his brain stem in late 2021, and after he underwent surgery he had to learn to walk and feed himself again.
Ravi is a huge football fan and he goes to a school nearby to the Community Hub, so our team were only too happy to invite him and his friends down for the afternoon.
The group were taught about the importance of healthy eating before chopping up their own fruit and making smoothies.
BHAFC Foundation nutritionist Mari said: “It was a delight to have Ravi and his friends come down to visit us.
“Ravi is such an inspiring young man. We hope he and his friends enjoyed their visit, and hopefully they’ll remember the important lessons they learned with us.
“It’s incredibly important for children to learn how to prepare healthy food from a young age – it’s a skill which will set them up to have happy and healthy futures.”
