Pinto and Sarri visit Hangleton Primary School

Veatriki Sarri and Tatiana Pinto helped Hangleton Primary School run a special assembly for their pupils.

The two WSL stars visited Hangleton on 27 March, where more than 200 children joined them for an assembly and a Q&A session.

Sarri and Pinto helped drive home the key messages of the assembly – the importance of resilience and collaboration – before answering questions from the pupils.

Children stood up in the assembly to ask their own questions to the players, as Tatiana and Vea talked about how they have had to persevere, show determination, and stay strong when injuries or results aren’t going their way.

They also talked about how they work together as a team to achieve their goals, as well as the many different ways that the children can get involved with football as a future career besides being a player or a coach.

At the end of the assembly, each pupil was given a free copy of the Match of the Day women’s football annual, and the two players posed for photos and signed copies for the children.

Rob Josephs, head of Education and Employability at the BHAFC Foundation, said: “Having two professional footballers come and give an inspiring talk will do a world of good for these young children.

“They’ve got to meet two people who, through hard work, have made careers as footballers playing at the highest level. What could be more inspiring than that?

“Hopefully they’ve all come away from today’s assembly feeling inspired, and with a greater knowledge about how to be resilient and work as a team.”
