West Hove Golf Club raise super sum for Foundation
A local golf club has raised a five-figure sum for the Foundation over the past year.
West Hove Golf Club has been raising money for us over the past 12 months, after then-captain Gary Salt nominated us as the club’s charity of the year in November last year.
Thanks to their efforts, we recently received a huge donation of £12,850 which will support our community work across Sussex.
Throughout the year, club members took part in various challenges and fundraising activities to help contribute to that total.
Gary took on a 72-hole challenge, completing four different 18 hole courses in a single day. The club also organised a Pro-Am day, inviting several teams including a BHAFC Foundation team made up of Albion greats Kerry Mayo, Steve Coppell, Mark Ormerod, and Guy Butters.
Gary also raffled off his captain’s parking space, and the club organised a number of fundraising events including: a captain’s dinner, a Motown Disco Night, and a live party rock music evening.
Lauren Ellis, fundraising manager at the BHAFC Foundation, expressed her gratitude to the golf club.
“We’re so thankful for the tremendous effort that everyone at West Hove Golf Club has made over the past 12 months.
“To raise nearly £13,000 is absolutely fantastic; this money will make a very real difference to a lot of people’s lives.
“They got creative with their fundraising and really went the extra mile. This is exactly the kind of thing we’re looking for from one of our partners, and I can’t thank them enough for their efforts.”
