Thousands enjoy summer soccer schools

More than 2,000 young players have attended a BHAFC Soccer School during the summer holidays.

The Foundation ran summer football activities all over East and West Sussex during the school holiday, providing children with a place to play and learn over the summer.

Sessions ran at 13 different locations across Sussex, including several new girls-only groups.

Increasing football participation among young people – particularly during the school holidays when children risk being inactive – is one of the charity’s primary aims.

Nathan Casselton, Football Participation Manager at the Foundation, said: “We’re pleased that so many young people have shown an interest in playing football over the summer holidays.

“We want as many children as possible to spend their holidays getting active and pushing themselves, so to see more than 2,000 of them at our holiday camps has been a pleasure.

“Hopefully as many of them as possible have enjoyed themselves and want to carry on playing every week during term-time.”
