BHAFC Foundation celebrates Community Hub official opening

BHAFC Foundation celebrates Community Hub official opening

Brighton-based DJ Fatboy Slim was in attendance as we celebrated the official opening of our new Community Hub.

The new hub on Freshfield Road – at the site of the old Cuthbert Pub – will be serving hot and cold food and drinks, as well as hosting community events.

Late last year we announced our move to our new office on Freshfield Road, in order to be closer to the communities they work with in Brighton.

Norman Cook aka DJ Fatboy Slim, ex-Albion player and current Foundation employee Guy Butters, and club stadium announcer Richard Reynolds were all special guests at the opening ceremony.

The Community Hub was marked officially open when Norman, an Albion fan and a big supporter of both the club and charity, cut a ceremonial blue ribbon outside the front door.

Matt Dorn, CEO at the BHAFC Foundation, was pleased to officially open the site.

“When we moved into our new office at Freshfield Road, we had the fantastic opportunity to open this brand new facility for local people to come together, and I’m delighted to see it officially open for business.

“The site used to be home to a local pub, but it’s been sat empty for some time now. I think it’s great that local people will once again be able to use the building as a place to meet.

“We’d love to see as many people as possible come through our doors, so please do pop in if you get the chance.”

The Community Hub is currently open weekdays from 9am until 4pm, serving hot food, salads, hot and cold drinks, and baked snacks.

It was designed with Albion fans in mind, with the walls decorated with club memorabilia and pictures of our community work in action.

The opening of the hub was supported by the Premier League Fans Fund.
