Foundation teams celebrate amazing success at Canary Cup tournament
We celebrated an extremely successful trip to Norwich for the annual Canary Cup football tournament earlier this month.
Youngsters representing football teams from across the country met at The Nest – the home of Norwich City Community Sports Foundation – for a four-day festival of football.
Teams were sent from huge clubs including Manchester United, Manchester City, MK Dons, Aston Villa, West Brom, Wolves, and Norwich City.
The Canary Cup kicked off with a disability football tournament, before tournaments for boys development teams from Under-9s up to Under-14s.
Of the seven tournaments of the Canary Cup, BHAFC Foundation sides won four of them. The Foundation Under-9s, Under-12s, Under-13s and Under-14s all won their tournaments, with the Under=10s finishing as runners-up.
Mark Pedrick, Football Pathway manager at the Foundation, was extremely proud of his young players’ performance.
“They’ve all done us so proud,” he said, “each and every one of them put in 100% and represented the club extremely well.
“To win four of the seven tournaments is a phenomenal achievement, and I hope they all go home feeling very proud of themselves.
“It was a great tournament from start to finish, and I know that everyone had a fantastic time. Thank you to Norwich for once again putting on a brilliant Canary Cup.”
