Albion fans raise over £60k over festive period
Fans, businesses, sports clubs, and Sussex locals have come together to raise a fantastic sum for the Foundation during the festive period.
Including one-off donations, fundraising events, campaigns, and ongoing donations, we have received more than £61,000 in the last two months.
The climax of our Christmas fundraising came in mid-December when we invited fans to meet Albion legends at our Christmas lunch.
Albion greats including Bobby Zamora, Victoria Williams, and Inigo Calderon were part of a host of legends who met fans at the lunch, which raised more than £28k for the charity.
Our annual bauble auction, which sees us auction off Christmas baubles signed by the men’s and women’s first teams, raised around £6,000. Captain Lewis Dunk’s bauble raised the highest sum, selling for about £600.
We also raised around £3.5k during our most recent quiz night at the Amex Stadium, as Albion fans got in the Bavarian spirit to enjoy a German-themed quiz night in honour of Fabian Hurzeler.
Meanwhile, West Hove Golf Club generously donated just under £13,000 after a year-long fundraising push.
In the past two months, we’ve also received donations totalling around £11k from individual one-off donations and through income raised by our Community Champions.
Fundraising manager Lauren Ellis wanted to share her gratitude with Albion fans for their tremendous support over the Christmas period.
“Christmas is a really important period for us, and we’ve been blown away by the support we’ve received over the last couple of months,” she said.
“Our festive fundraising events were well-attended, and fans really got into the spirit of things both at our Christmas lunch and at our last quiz night.
“We’re so grateful for all of the support we’ve received recently, which has come from supporters, local businesses, Albion players, our title partners American Express, and too many other people to mention.
“Thank you so much and I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas.”
