Albion stars visit Brighton girls’ school

Albion women’s first team players Olaug Tvedten and Jelena Cankovic surprised students at Brighton Girls GDST.

The two Albion stars visited the girls’ school where they met with pupils and answered their questions in Q&A sessions.

Plenty of the pupils at Brighton Girls are Albion fans and regularly watch the women’s first team play, so getting the opportunity to meet some players was an exciting moment.

Jelena and Olaug met with dozens of pupils in both the prep school and senior school.

Sarah Griffiths, Prep Head at the school, says that her pupils had a great time meeting Jelena and Olaug.

“Our pupils loved yesterday and have been talking about it lots today,” Sarah said, “many parents mentioned this morning how much they spoke about it when they got home.

“Thank you so much to the players for giving up their time and to the Foundation for organising it for us.”

The Foundation runs weekly girls’ football sessions at Brighton Girls, which are open to girls of all abilities from Reception to Year 9 and aim to get as many girls in Brighton as possible playing regular football.
