David Fellows confirmed as Foundation’s new Chair of Trustees
The Brighton & Hove Albion Foundation is pleased to announce that David Fellows will be taking on the role of Chair of the Board of Trustees this June.
David has been a member of the board of trustees since March 2025, and has been a passionate supporter of the charity since he joined the Foundation.
He will now step up to the role of Chair following the departure of Carina Bauer in June.
David said: “For 35 years, the Foundation has been changing lives in communities across Sussex. As the official charity of Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club, it means so much to so many people.
“I’m honoured to support the staff, volunteers and partners who make that possible as the Foundation continues to use the power of football to change lives.”

Carina Bauer leaves after three seasons as chair, first joining ahead of the 2023/24 season. She will now take up a position on the football club’s board following the departure of Ray Bloom and Peter Godfrey.
She oversaw a key time in the charity’s history; a three-year period which saw the organisation’s name change from Albion in the Community to the BHAFC Foundation, the relocation of the charity’s HQ into the heart of Brighton, and the opening of our Community Hub.
In that time she was recognised with a Businesswoman of the Year award, while the Foundation was nominated for Best Community Scheme at the Football Business Awards during every year of her tenure, being named as overall winners in 2025.
Carina said: “It’s been an absolute privilege to be Chair of the BHAFC Foundation for the past three years.
“There has been a lot of change in that time, but the one thing that has remained constant is the amazing work that the Foundation team does to change lives through the power of football.
“The difference our coaches make is truly meaningful and whilst I will no longer be Chair, I will always be glad to support all that they do.
“I know that my successor, David Fellows, will be a brilliant Chair and together with Joe there is a very exciting and bright future ahead for the Foundation.”
Foundation Chief Executive Joe Jenkins spoke of his admiration for Carina’s work at the Foundation: “Everyone at the Foundation is hugely grateful for all that Carina has contributed over the past 3 years and the difference she has helped us to make in the lives of thousands of people.
“As we wish Carina every success in her new role on the board of the club, I am also delighted to welcome David as our new Chair and look forward to working together in this new season.”
The charity would like to thank Carina for her wonderful work over the past three years, and wish her the best of luck in her new role.
