First team stars give out free t-shirts at disability football session

Players from Albion’s first teams visited a football session to hand out free BHAFC Foundation t-shirts.

To celebrate the start of the charity’s new chapter as the BHAFC Foundation (changed from our old name Albion in the Community), we gave out free blue Foundation t-shirts to young participants in our disability football programme.

We invited the youngsters down to the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre in Lancing, where they took part in a fun day of football activities.

A number of the women’s first team visited the session to hand out the free t-shirts, including Poppy Pattinson, Dejana Stefanovic, and Libby Bance.

Later in the day, Albion Dutch defenders Joel Veltman and Jan Paul Van Hecke came to visit the players. They posed for photos, chatted to the youngsters, and took part in a penalty shootout competition.

Phil Broom, who heads up disability football for the Foundation, said that his young players were very excited.

“They were over the moon to meet the Albion players,” Phil told us, “Meeting the players and getting free t-shirts really made it a special day for them.

“It’s definitely a day they’ll all remember for a very long time.”
