Foundation shortlisted for three awards at Football Business Awards

Foundation shortlisted for three awards at Football Business Awards

The BHAFC Foundation has once again been shortlisted for honours at the Football Business Awards (FBAs).

We have been nominated in three categories: Best Football Community Scheme (Premier League), Best Corporate Social Responsibility Scheme for our work with American Express, and the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Award (Premier League) alongside the club.

This marks the ninth year in a row that we’ve been shortlisted at the FBAs – one of football’s most celebrated awards ceremonies – winning an honour on five occasions.

For the Best Football Community Scheme award, we are part of a shortlist including the community schemes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Brentford, AFC Bournemouth, and last year’s winners Everton.

The American Express colleague volunteering programme ‘Live, Learn, Play Together’ has also been recognised as one of the best corporate social responsibility schemes in UK football.

The club has also been shortlisted for three further awards: the Innovation Award, the Sustainability Award, and Best Digital / Social Media Team.

Matt Dorn, CEO at the BHAFC Foundation, says it is an honour to be shortlisted for two awards.

“We’re all delighted to have been shortlisted at the Football Business Awards once again.

“To be shortlisted once is an honour, but to be shortlisted nine years in a row is simply fantastic and an unmistakable marker of the tireless, life-changing work our staff do.

“I’m sure the thousands of people who we work with every year would echo my congratulations to all of our coaches, tutors, support staff, and everyone who helps make the BHAFC Foundation such a powerful force for good in Sussex.”

Beverly Sawyers, Vice President at  American Express, said: “We are delighted that our colleague volunteering programme with the Brighton & Hove Albion Foundation has been shortlisted for recognition by the Football Business Awards.

“We are extremely proud of the impact that the programme has been able to make in the local Sussex community over the last thirteen years.”

The FBA award ceremony will be taking place on Friday 24 May.
