Guy Butters helps Sussex men on weight loss programme

Albion legend Guy Butters has been supporting local men on their weight loss journey with AITC.

Guy has been attending Kick Off The Weight sessions – a programme to promote healthy eating and good exercise habits to help men lose weight.

The programme has proved very popular, with 36 men signing up to join groups in Lancing and Worthing.

The course started just 3 weeks ago, but incredibly the two groups already have lost more than 20 stone between them.

Withdean favourite Guy has been supporting participants through the programme, attending the sessions to join in and help boost morale.

Guy has been using his expertise to help run the physical activity side of the programme, helping to deliver football sessions and doing his best drill sergeant impressions during circuit training.

“Kick Off The Weight is a really great initiative,” Guy told us, “everyone taking part is working really hard and already they’re seeing results.

“The guys all have a good laugh and a joke together, but they’re losing some serious weight and getting a lot healthier at the same time.”

Jean, who runs the programme, is delighted at how well Kick Off The Weight has been received by the participants.

“We’ve been blown away by how many people took an interest in Kick Off The Weight, it was really heartening to see,” Jean said.

“Keeping control of our weight is so important for our overall health, so it’s amazing to see so many men at these sessions doing something about it.”

Kick Off The Weight is a programme that has transformed lives in the past.

The Worthing group of 2022 was a tremendous success, with the 11 men taking part losing a whopping 22 stone between them over the 12-week course.
